Most people are aware that you can use an enema to help with constipation but obviously you can’t do this every time. Another approach is to use a Hand Bidet Sprayer. Primarily used for cleaning up after pooping it can also be used to shoot a quick shot of water up the pipes. This helps get things looser and moving; fast, conveniently and without discomfort. It also works great the same way on the opposite problem of diarrhea.

If you haven't had the feeling to go (mild constipation):

-Prune juice (at least 2 glasses a day)

-Polyethylene Glycol 3350 (Miralax) Draws water into your colon and keeps you're stool from getting too hard

    -Milk of Magnesia

If you have had the feeling to go but can't pass a stool:

    -Glycerin suppositories

    -Fleet Enema

-Manual disimpaction (should be done with a gloved finger)

If none of these methods work then go to the Emergency room because you may have an impacted bowel. Are you bloated? Do you feel pain in your lower abdomen? Do you have an appetite? If you have a combination of these symptoms go to the ER.

They will X-ray your abdomen to see exactly what the problem is and if it is an impaction then they should give you a Fleet Enema or manually disimpact you.

Hope this helped and hope you feel better.

holy crap how much did you take?! It used to back me up for like a day and that was it.... But out of curiosity how can you have both constipation and diarrhea? Because you don't want to take laxies if you're having diarrhea, but you don't want to take anything to stop diarrhea if you're constipated. You can try eating bananas for diarrhea..... :(

well constipation occurs when there is a over consumption of fats. The only thing i can think of us without getting diarrhea is avoid eating food that will constipate you for example plantains. Start drinking prune juice since is high in fiber and will make it better. If you can get enough fiber from your daily meals you might want to start taking fiber supplements to avoid this from happening again..

walgreens, get some laxative (liquid) what it does is when its going through your tract it lubes it. relaxes your muscles and lets it out. if you are feeling any stomach pains, then you should get a laxative, if not dont worry your not constipated the foods just not ready to exit the corridors =P a stool softener is what will cause the poops to liquid down a bit, you just want a laxative for easier going. relax the muscles so its not holding it all in.

For constipation, mineral oil has been a home remedy for years as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oGkmFzynd...

For constipation, suppositories, laxatives and enemas are all totally unnecessary if you eat the right foods.

All fruit and vegetables in very large amounts are laxative.

You need to permanently change your diet or you are likely to get colon cancer.

Constipation can make you extremely unwell and can lead to colon cancer as it causes a build up of carcinogenic toxins in the system.

The intake of foods such as milk, cheese, white rice, white flour and red meat should be restricted, because they tend to contribute to constipation.

Any food that has had the fiber stripped out, the nutrients processed out or slows down the digestion is a constipation culprit. Here's a list of foods shown to cause constipation problems:

•Meats, especially fatty meats, red meat and processed meats,

•Dairy Products, such as cheese, ice cream and whole milk,

•Fast Foods – burgers, French fries and other fried foods, pizza, etc.,

•Refined grains, like white rice or any refined white flour products,

•Highly starchy foods – white potatoes, corn and all refined grains,

•Pastries and other high sugar products, such as cakes, cookies and pies,

•Deep-fried foods, chips and other foods that are high in bad fats.

You can see lots more in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22natural+way... which tells you "Natural Ways to Relieve Constipation" and the right foods to eat.

-Eat more fibre (psyllium husks work well)

-Drink only water and tea. Avoid sugary drinks

-Eat 4 or 5 prunes with each meal

    -Eat more fruit, especially apples

-Don't eat any junk food or processed stuff
