Will Angelicus Botia really eat Bamboo Shrimp?
I have a 75 gallon tank with a couple of bamboo shrimp. According to aqadvisor.com, Angelicus Botia might eat the shrimp. Does anyone know if this is in fact true? Their mouths seem too small to eat the shrimp, but I suppose they could nibble the shrimp to death if they were of a mind to do so. Has anyone kept these two species together successfully?

The Angelicus Botia can be mildly aggressive. Yes, they will attack shrimp. I have not placed them with bamboo shrimp, but have known them to attack and eat other shrimps.
Size has nothing to do with it. A cow is bigger than you, but you still eat beef, right? A botia can harass decent sized inverts and other fish and kill them just from constantly stressing them with attack. Your thought of nibble them to death is actually pretty accurate.
I would not put the angelicus in with any shrimp I wanted to keep.
