AMD vs Intel....please help...?
Hello experts,
Im needing a little advice here.
Im looking for an AMD laptop processor which competes head-to-head with Intel's i7.
I've trided AMD's A8 which i have been told is one of the top of the line AMD processors ( back in 2011 atleast) but when i did research it only competed with Intel's i3.
Im looking for a good solid AMD processor laptop which can compete with Intel's i7 in a laptop
Please advise...
Thanks

as far as i know amd doesn't do all that well against an intel i7 processor. they also are louder and run hotter than an intel processor.

Lol. There is no AMD laptop processor that comes close to a laptop i7. It doesn't exist. The laptop i7 processors such as the i7 3610QM, 3720QM, 3630QM are extremely powerful and rival even the desktop i7 chips
In terms of sheer processing power, the Ivy bridge mobile i7 is probably double that of the best AMD laptop chip

I think it depends on what you want your processor do. I personally will choose AMD over INTEL when it comes to gaming purposes. They say Intel is much better when it comes to multitasking but i have been using both processor brand for years now and i have observed that there is no slight difference between the two. AMD processors can do multitasking too. Technology wise, AMD was the first one to develop multi-cored processors.
So it depends on what you want to do.
GAME: AMD
MULTITASKING: Intel
IMHO...
