Who said Iran was a tiny country compared to the Soviet Union, and does not pose a serious threat to us?

Are you surprised when the Us keeps invading countries in the ME. Sadly Iran has a lot of oil which makes them a target for American aggression

Well, Iran IS small compared to the USSR, which stretched from the Baltic Sea in the west to the Bering Sea in the east.

Of course, size isn't everything.

Still, by the 1950s the USSR had numerous nuclear weapons and a good industrial base, which was used largely on the arms race with the USA. The Soviet Union in the 1950s was more dangerous than Iran is right now: but a very few years will change that.

And, as for the idea of talking to the enemy, well the USSR wanted to talk with us because they were afraid of our weapons and military, and they didn't want to die prematurely. We are not so sure whether the Iranian government cares about survival. That makes them, in some ways, more dangerous.

And Iran DOES pose an ideological threat just as dangerous as that of the USSR; extremist Islamism is no better than dictatorial Communism.

Well a corral snake is about as long as my middle finger and thinner than my pinkie. A Python can grow to thirty feet in length and can eat you whole.

If I had my druthers I'd rather be stuck with a Python than a corral snake. A python you can see and you can lop off it's head. A corral snake is small and one bite from the wormy little reptile will kill you with it's poison. It's more dangerous than a python.

What matters is the quality of their poison. And Iran has a poisonous mindset against all infidels and particularly the Jews. If they build the means of creating nuclear bombs you can bet the little fools will not stop with just one bomb. And once they have a good number of them? The idiots will do their damnedest to "Wipe Israel off the face of the map" like they have been saying for the last two decades!

They have made that proclamation on a number of occasions in public. If they have the means they will do it and the yardbird who says that Iran poses no serious threat to us is a naive juvenile as far as I'm concerned.

The Soviet Union - that's the Soviet Union, not Russia - was a monolithic entity with hundreds, if not thousands of nuclear weapons. By comparison Iran, although having a reasonably large land mass, is still, in most areas, underdeveloped and does not, at the moment, have nuclear weapons OR the ability to deliver nuclear weapons.

Whether you would like to believe it or not, Iran poses no serious threat to you whatsoever. Your country needs to stop provoking it. Simple as that.

Can you name a country that isn't small when compared to the USSR? China is small compared to the USSR. The USSR was so large the sun never set on it.

A threat to Israel perhaps, a threat to the US, no.
