Forced to take a survey that made me uncomfortable?

So a couple days ago I was group emailed from someone in a different class period than me. We have to administer surveys to random people and my name appeared in a list that a girl had to get ahold of. The survey was about women and body image because of the media. There were a couple really personal questions and they made me feel uncomfortable but I had to do the survey for class purposes. Now I feel even worse than I did before about how my body looks and my self esteem has taken a deeper dive. Should I not have agreed to do the survey even though it was for a class?

Being forced never feels good. Things, should be done because you are ready or you want to. Not from pressure or force.

You don't have to answer any questions that make you feel uncomfortable, no matter what the survey was for. Or if you really wanted to do the survey, just miss out the questions that you didn't want to answer. My advice to you on your body image is to take a look around you. I bet that you will find that your body is no different from most of those around you. The media portrays an unrealistic view of the female body image, focusing on very thin, underweight models specifically targeted at young women. You will find that these so called models are the minority and in no way representative of women in general. Be thankful for who you are and what you look like as opposed to what the media tells you. They have a lot to answer for.
