~~~ Lets see;
Let's begin at birth.
Your heart beats once and stops. You are dead.
again,
Let's begin at birth.
Your heart beats 1,000,000 times (takes the time necessary to beat 1M times), How many years would that take?
Seems that the more that your heart beats, the (necessarily) longer you must live.
Perhaps you mean "the SLOWER your heart beats"?
In which case, generally, yes, the less work it has to do, the longer (all other things being equal) it will function.
Mine beats at usually 58 - 60 beats per minute, and I'm older than dirt! *__-
I don't think we've been given so many heart beats but exercising & being fit makes your heart beat slower basically your heart works less when your in shape & being anxious nervous all the time can be unhealthy.. & as for your last question.. no just try to live life as stress free as you can don't think so much about that tho just maintain a healthy life style, you'll be fine.
Even if someone lived longer, is having such a slow life worth living? I'd rather have anticipation, excitement, nervousness and joy in a short life, rather than a hum-drum life of safety and longevity.
Well slower metabolism = longer life span, but no, I don't think it's down to exact number of heartbeats.
I've always thought so. It's probably just an old wives tale. Most people think it's better to live hard, die young and have a nice looking corpse..
