Outcome of Professional Wrestling.?

Who determines that?

Is it similar to a real fight, that after a certain time limit has been hit the next one to pin wins? Is it determined before hand?

I don't watch wrestling anymore, but this is a question i've wondered for awhile

Depends on the situation. Most of the time the outcome is decided to advance the current storyline. Who wins a match for the title depends on what management what to do with the stars. so for example if you are doing a storyline between Randy Orton and John Cena for the matches running up to the big PPV match you will have some weeks were both superstars beat someone strong but not in the title picture because it makes them look stronger going into the match and you will have tag matches where neither get pinned but the tag partner does, which creates momentum behind normally the challenger giving the appearance that he is on a roll and can't be stopped. The winner of the title should be the one who creates the most interest in the show, so if the bad guy shocks the world and wins the title when people hear they tune in to see how he did it and what the good guy has to say about getting beat and trying to win back his title or the good guy has overcome the odds against him and people want to see it to believe it.

So basically the winners add to the storyline and the champion is decided by who will create the most interest in the show and who management think has earned the right with attitude and work ethic. they wont give the top title to someone that is lazy and no one cares about because it doesn't create interest or money for them.

WHO determines that? The Board of Directors I guess, the CEO definitely has to approve it, so he or she too has a hand, and I guess a bit from the creative team too.

PS. Sometimes they are determined solely for the cause that they "sell more" for the company than the other, because if true skills were put to test, there would be a whole different set of characters wrestling in the spotlight than we see today.

On a t.v. documentary that I saw, the announcers signal on when the match will end or the referee does the job, but usually the writers and former WWE legends decide which outcomes should happen. Most of the time, I think Vince McMahon approves it. Oftentimes, veteran wrestlers like Kane influence the result whereas he will lose to give push on younger stars. Also, the wrestlers who draws the most money is more likely to win.
