If people didn't live in disaster areas there wouldn't be any natural disaster?

No houses built in tornado areas, no houses destroyed?

Nothing near the ocean, nothing flooded out?

I agree that there would be far lesser natural disaster stories/accidents if people didn't live near known disaster zones. However it wouldn't mean they would become non-existent. They would still happen if no one lived near them. Also natural disasters can show up in the middle of nowhere. Like earthquakes and floods can kill people who live in relatively safe zones. A hurricane can show up in an unexpected region and cause destruction to people.

The natural disaster would still happen, it just wouldn't impact humans.
