My house air conditioner is blowing warm air...fan not running outside...what is it?

I want to be sure the a/c guy is shooting me strait when he comes tomorrow. For many weeks, my a/c would blow warm for like 15-20 minutes before it would ever turn cold...and when it finally would turn cold, it was as cold as it ever should be...very nice and cold. But eventually, it just started blowing warm and will now never turn cold. I also just noticed that even though the air is coming out and the normal rate, the fan outside isn't turning at all. I don't know if it was turning in the past few weeks or not, but it's not now.

Can anyone tell me what this is so I don't get ripped off? Is it the capacitor, and how much should that cost? Or something else? TY

Just call a repairman and ask for a quote. If the restore is low cost, then get it repair and repair. If not go and buy a new air-conditioner. It maybe because of now not adequate air-con fuel.

Shut it down right now! before you damage something else. Either the fan motor or the fan side of the dual run capacitor has failed.

If you continue to run it without that fan running you will burn the compressor to death.

Looks like its just box fans tonight....

Yes the other contributors are correct. You have a bad fan motor or capacitor. You could also be missing freon. However my bet you need a new motor?

your a/c is not cooling because your condensing fan motor is bad, the condensing fan motor is design to keep the compressor and the condensing coil cool,,the air will be blown in the house from the air handler but the air will not be be cold if anything wrong with the outside unit. you can visit www.freezeup37.com

might be a tripped breaker or a blown fuse or 2 in the disconnect
