What body part hurts worst when getting a tattoo?
i've always wanted a tattoo ever since i was young. My dad was covered in them and i thought it was just the coolest thing. Growing up i learned that tattoos are there for meaning not just because you like it. Cause likes can change and then you're stuck with regret of the tattoo. Well.. My best friend died when i was in 6th grade. I miss him very much and thought since i'm of legal age to get a tattoo without my parents, that it's time to get that special tat in memory of my friend. I was thinking something small, since it's my first tattoo. Maybe like fairy navi since we played zelda together a lot. I can handle pain well, but having a needle going over sore spots over and over again idea.. Kinda gives me the first time jitters. Where is the best place to get a tat for first time triers? What hurts the most?

That's a really sweet idea! The most painful areas are boney areas, or areas with thin skin. Places like the outside of your thigh, or the back of your shoulder (stay away from the shoulder blade though) are good, since they're "fattier" areas. Getting a tattoo isn't really too bad, unless you have a low pain tolerance. It's an annoying, burning/scratching/vibrating feeling. I remember getting my first tattoo. It's still my favorite, even though it's really simple, because it was my first. It's on my lower back, off to the side, and it didn't hurt much, but some people don't want to get a tattoo there because of the "tramp stamp" stereotype. Eat before you leave, bring water or Gatorade to stay hydrated, and take a candy bar to keep your sugar levels up! It's an experience you won't forget. :)

I've heard some of the worst spots include: feet, on sides over ribs, skull, knuckles/fingers.
As far as better spots I'm not entirely sure. Remember if your a female you want to place the tat in a spot as you age and your body changes it won't stretch too much or get distorted as bad. Also mind if you want to have children the same concept applies.
I have one tat, it's on the side of my hip (when standing drop hand directly to sides my tat is right under my right palm) it didn't hurt too bad, I actually laughed at part of it. The one time where it really started to hurt was when it hit my hip bone.
Find an artist you like, their personality, their style, make sure they are clean and reliable. Check on their past work, do people reccomend them? Do you like the look of their previous tats?
Talk to the artist about placement, they can probably help you decide that as well
I would reccomend getting it in a place that you can easily cover when looking for a job or working as some employers (more and more these days) require them to be covered during working hours. Just some things to keep in mind.

The Back of the Knees
The Palm of the Hand to Between the Fingers
The Torso and the Ribs
The Adam's Apple
The Inner Elbow
It would be best to ask the tattoo place for suggestions of where to get your tattoo as it would depend on the size of it, shape, ect ect.

I have 6 tattoos the one on my ankle was fine not pain at all, the 2 on my wrists were ok again a little more pain than the ankle. The one on my back shoulder did not hurt at all pretty much slept thru it. I have on in behind my ear again it was a little painful but not too much. However the last one I got is on the top of my foot that one hurt like a MOTHER F***ER. Will not do that one again. but it depends on your pain threshold , good luck with your tattoo and enjoy.

Get it in a soft spot that has more flesh then bone. Spots with like no meat and all bone or senitive areas(neck, foot, hand, ect.) tend yo hurt the most. I got my first tat on my forearm it didnt really hurt; but then again everyone different.
