What Monotheistic (belief in ONE Creator) religions treat women as absolute equals to men?

And I don't mean the whole BS about equal but different thing where women are still treated as subordinates... where they try to say that women are equal, however still need to be subordinate to men because that is their 'role' in society dictated by God. That's BS created by MEN!

I mean TRUE equality where women and men share all the same rights, freedoms, abilities etc within the religion, including leading the congregation, and equal status within the family life as dictated by the religion... where the male / female relationship as seen as a team and not a hierarchy with men at the top.

???

I am Sikh (convert), and I know Sikhi has absolute equality for sure... I was originally Catholic, and I know women are NOT seen as equal in Christianity... just read the Bible for proof! But what other Monotheistic religions treat women as absolute equal?? Bahai? Sant Mat? (I dont know much about those two... ) Others?

Update:

The Jokes on You: So you equate physical strength with superiority as it pertains to peoples equality and rights do you? Men are stronger physically, therefore they deserve to be in charge of women because they are physically weaker hunh???? .... SOOOOO Going by that logic, then any man stronger than you should get that promotion at work and you should always be subordinate to them?? The CEOs of companies should always be the physically strongest person in the company? The President of the US should be someone like this guy?: http://cdn.ebaumsworld.com/picture/petros753/muscl...

Sorry to tell you this but.... muscles don't make someone superior to anyone else!! Our creator made every soul equal and every soul is held in equal status by the Creator (who btw is genderless - beyond gender)

Update 2:

Skullhead: I don't know what Bible you have been reading, but the one I read makes NO secret of how women should be 'submissive' to their husbands, not speak in church, not hold positions of authority over men etc.

Update 3:

Chris H: You just stated the main reason why women were oppressed in religion... because MEN don't see women as equals. But... is it men's opinion that should matter... or God's??

I believe in women's Lib as long as women stay in their place. Where is a woman's place? Wherever she wants to be.

The Baha'i Faith is the first major religion to fully and explicitly address the issue of equality of men and women. The Baha'i viewpoint of humanity can be compared to a bird. Man is one wing and woman the other. We are different and we should appreciate the differences but we should be equally educated, equally developed and enjoy the same rights and responsibilities. However, there are two sets of circumstances in which there is unequal treatment in favor of the woman. One of them is in the unfortunate case of a divorce. The inequality is that the husband is supposed to financially support the wife for a full year while they try to work out their differences. The other one is in the case of a Baha'i home with both a boy and a girl but only enough money to send one to college. When that is the case, the girl is given the preference. Finally, there is one area where it goes in the other direction. Although women serve on the local and national Spiritual Assemblies, they do not serve as members of the Universal House of Justice. The Prophet/founder of the Baha'i Faith, Baha'u'llah (1817-1892) said that the time would come when the wisdom of that would be clear. I find it quite interesting that of the millions of Baha'i women, I have never heard a single one who had a problem with that. The only complainers that I know of are those who are not members of the Baha'i Faith. The Baha'i Faith has done far more to promote equality of men and women than any other organization in history yet those few defamers falsely portray the Baha'i Faith as misogynistic and chauvinistic. If the Baha'i women who are very much a part of the Baha'i Faith and know it intimately do not feel as though they are discriminated against, then on what basis do poorly informed and biased outsiders spread their denigrations?

Yet another of the teachings of Bahá'u'lláh is the equality of men and women and their equal sharing in all rights. And there are many similar principles. It hath now become evident that these teachings are the very life and soul of the world.

    (Abdu'l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu'l-Baha, p. 249)

That men and women differ from one another in certain characteristics and functions is an inescapable fact of nature and makes possible their complementary roles in certain areas of the life of society; but it is significant that 'Abdu'l-Bahá has stated that in this Dispensation "Equality of men and women … has been fully and categorically announced."

    Christianity The Bible teaches that both man and lady were created in God’s photograph, had a right away relationship with God, and shared collectively the duties of bearing and rearing kids and having dominion over the created order (Gen 1:26-28). The Bible teaches that lady and man had been created for full and equal partnership. The word “helper” (ezer) used to designate woman in Genesis 2:18 refers to God in most circumstances of ancient testament utilization (e.G. I Sam 7:12; Ps 121:1-2). As a consequence the word conveys no implication whatever of feminine subordination or inferiority. The Bible teaches that the forming of lady from man demonstrates the predominant cohesion and equality of human beings The Bible teaches that man and woman had been co-contributors in the Fall: Adam was no much less culpable than Eve (Gen three:6; Rom 5:12-21; I Cor 15:21-22). The Bible teaches that at Pentecost the Holy Spirit came on men and ladies alike. Without big difference, the Holy Spirit indwells ladies and men, and sovereignly distributes gifts without alternative as to gender (Acts 2:1-21; 1 Cor 12:7, eleven, 14:31). . The Bible teaches that both women and guys are called to boost their spiritual presents and to make use of them as stewards of the grace of God (1 Peter 4:10-11). Both men and females are divinely talented and empowered to minister to the whole physique of Christ, beneath His authority (Acts 1:14, 18:26, 21:9; Rom sixteen:1-7, 12-thirteen, 15; Phil 4:2-three; . The Bible teaches that, within the New testomony economy, females as well as men undertaking the prophetic, priestly and royal features (Acts 2:17-18, 21:9; 1 Cor 11:5; 1 Peter 2:9-10;

Women aren't going to lift my luggage in the airport, what's equal about that?

Edit: Lol, no I didn't mean it like that, some women deny doing things like that because "They are not men and that's a man's job", stuff like that which always redirect me to this equality thing.

I know religion, say Islam, make human aware of their personality and confine them accordingly. It does not mean they don't have equal rights. The limitations and purview are well defined and people gradually see the point/s over time.
