2 weeks to cruise time...yay! Do you have any helpful hints/tips for me?

This is the 2nd time I've been on a cruise but this will be my husbands first time. I'm just trying to think of everything I need and am grateful if you have any helpful advice to make this a fun time! Thanks!

Wish I knew which cruise line you were going on.

Take advantage of the planner they give you daily. Decide the night before what you REALLY want to do that day, and plan the rest of your activities around that. If you don't plan, you'll miss some really fun things!

Depending on the destination, but decide what you REALLY want to do the most on shore. Focus on that one main thing, and let the other things come as they may. If you want to do too many things, you could end up overwhelmed (this can lead to stressed nerves and arguments...TRUST me on this lol)

At supper, order some new and unusual dishes that you would normally never try. You can order however much you want! So order 2 entrees (a safe one, and a new one...) that way if you don't like the unusual one, you have something else to eat that you know for sure you'll like. You can order everything on the menu if you so desire...so don't hold back!!

Some allow you to bring on your own alcohol and some don't. BUT for the ones that don't "allow" you to, there is a way around it. Even if you're not BIG drinkers, you can still spend a pretty penny on those expensive cups of liquid sunshine! Empty a mouthwash bottle or shampoo bottle...make sure they're washed out and clean (of course). Then you can put whatever liquor you want in it. For example, coconut rum...it's great when mixed with the free juice/punch onboard! Disney allows you to take any alcohol you want on board, so people just fill up carry-on rolling bags with beer, liquor, wine...whatever.

check out cruisecritic. They have lots of great advice. You could also sign up on that site and find out who's going to be on the same cruise on their roll call area. Depending on the ship, you may want to take a night light, power strip, hair dryer, iron, a case of water, and always bring your passport. Don't spend all your time in the cabin. Don't sweat the small things as there will always be people who don't have good manners, especially on the buffet line : )
