All of the prophets, from Adam to Muhammad, conveyed the true religion to people. The fundamentals of belief, which are the foundations of the religion, always remained the same. However, some decrees about worshipping and worldly affairs, what we call shariah, changed depending on the requirements of the age and needs of people from Prophet Adam to Prophet Muhammad.

Heavenly religions are in unanimous agreement regarding fundamental beliefs/principles of belief, universal ethical values and the consciousness of worshipping only one god. There are differences in the branches and details of the religion. The differences take place due to the different conditions of the times and places. Therefore, sometimes different sharias came in different ages and sometimes different prophets and different sharias and some new arrangements about details came in the different regions of the same age.

It is known that different religions with different messages and miracles were sent to the communities that had different wrong behavior culturally. The fact that Prophet Moses came to Egypt, which had become a slave of the illusions of the magicians with the same type of miracles the fact that Prophet Jesus came with miracles regarding medicine in a period when medicine was common and people had unconditional belief in doctors and the fact that Prophet Muhammad came with the Quran, a unique work of art, and challenged everybody in a period when poets and poems were regarded as literature gods by the Arabs of Jahiliyya are historical and living documents showing the relationship of the cultural and social structure of the environment with religion.

Religions, especially the religion of Islam, draws the lines between licit and forbidden, lays down conditions to prevent deceiving tricks, unjust profits and cheating regarding the economy; they leave the remaining details to the conditions of the tie and customs of the regions. From this point of view, it can be seen that in the religions, especially in Islam, the last religion, economic conditions like trade, arts and crafts, agriculture were laid down in flexible formulae that can be used in any age.

None of the divine books that were sent before the Quran and whose copies are present today are the original copies of the divine books that God sent to His prophets. In the course of time, the original copies were lost and they were rewritten by people. Therefore, some wrong beliefs and superstitions were incorporated into them. For instance, it is a well-known historical truth that the Old Testament (the Torah) could not be preserved by the Jews, who lived as slaves and in exile for a long time after Prophet Moses and who lost their beliefs for a while and became idolaters; it is also known that the copy of the Old Testament that is present today was known by some clergymen long years after Prophet Moses and was accepted as a religious book as if it was the original Old Testament. It is obvious that a book that emerged after such a long and complicated period cannot be the same book as the one sent down to Prophet Moses. Therefore, there are some attributions and slanders that will not behoove to prophets; there are also some decrees that are contrary to the spirit of oneness religion.

The Psalms that were sent to Prophet David underwent the same process as the Old Testament.

As for the New Testament (the Gospel), Prophet Jesus did not dictate the revelations that he received. He became a prophet when he was 30 and his duty of prophethood ended when he was 33. He traveled from one village to another, one city to another in order to show people the true way in a very short time, three years. During his last times, he was always traced and followed by the Roman administrators because of the provocation of the Jews. Therefore, he could not find any time or opportunity to dictate the New Testament. As a matter of fact the New Testament books that are present today are called by the names of their writers (compilers) and they look like biography books that include the sermons, preaching and talks of Prophet Jesus to his apostles.  Besides, the writers are not the first believers, the first apostles of Prophet Jesus but those who listened to those divine words that came to Jesus from them.

The council of Niceaea examined hundreds of New Testaments and approved the four New Testaments that are available today that they thought had divine characters and destroyed the others by burning them with the agreement of 318 members.

As it is seen, the principle that Jesus is the son of God was accepted long years after Jesus as a result of the decision of a council. Some Christian churches did not accept that decision. Therefore, it is impossible to say that the current 4 Gospels today are the same as the original Gospel that was sent down to Jesus.

There is no "true" religion, and anyone that says a particular religious ideology is the right one is either ignorant, or they're lying to you. Look man, it's all ridiculous. It's not that being a Muslim isn't ridiculous, but being a Jew is. Everything is ridiculous! Being a Catholic is ridiculous; being a Protestant is ridiculous; being a Baptist is ridiculous; being a Buddhist is ridiculous; being in anything is ridiculous; you're a human being!

If you attach yourself and your mind to any ideology, you're going to be on a road; and that road may or may not lead you in a good direction. But you're gonna stay on that road if you're attached to an ideology, and it can be a terrible road: it can be a road of circumcising your daughter's clitoris because that's a tradition. I mean, these crazy people in Africa that cut holes on their lip and stretch them out to put plates on them, why is that?

Because they got on a road, and they stuck with that road regardless of rational thinking--they didn't use rational thinking at all. They're just adapted to a predetermined pattern of behavior that makes life so much more simple. And that's what every religion is! The problem is no one knows. You cannot know. You can have your own beautiful, personal experiences--you could have been the person that was touched by god.

But when you start yelling and ranting that other people have to follow your lead, the world is gonna end, Christians are gonna be taken away, I know you're full of bullshit; and you know you're full of bullshit. And the real problem is we can't say it, because everyone has this religious freedom--the freedom to express yourself. Even if you're expressing yourself with nonsense, nonsense that helps scare lonely sad people lock onto that nonsense so they feel like they're a part of something. I mean, that's what it is: religion preys on people whose lives suck. So, it's all nuts.

It's not like my stuff's cool and your stuff's not, and it's not that yoga is the answer or drugs and alcohol are the answer-- there's just questions. We need to be honest with ourselves and acknowledge that it's our own insecurities that are asking us to search for an answer that's impossible to answer. And until we do, we're never gonna get anywhere. The human race is stuck in a giant quagmire when it comes to our behavior and our thinking about our behavior.

For a lot of people man, religion can give you some inspiration. But there comes a certain point and time where you need to pop the training wheels off and recognize that all of this morality that you've developed is good because it's good to treat other people good. It's good to treat other people the way that you want yourself to be treated. It's like the golden rule, and there's a reason for it. And that reason is that we're connected in some strange way that we don't totally understand.

And unless you are good to other people around you, unless you're kind and friendly and warm and loving, you're not gonna enjoy this life. You're gonna be problems everywhere you go, and you're gonna have problems everywhere you go; you gotta find a way to enjoy this life. It's not because of Jesus; it's not because of Moses; it's not because of anybody that may or may not have ever existed; it's because that's how you fit better in the world. That's how you stay positive.

And it doesn't have to be some bullshit written five thousand years ago on animal skins. That doesn't have to be the golden rule because it's old; you know that's dumb.

it is the true religion. i've done research and i know what i believe is true. Dont listen to the atheist, the Muslims, or the JW. The God of the Bible is the true God. http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/2011/03/2...

I'm glad you want to be a part of Christ's family! you are about to discover the greatest truths anyone could ever know. ask many questions, find trustworthy sources (avoid this site, there are too many haters), and most of all, read your Bible! highlight what you don't understand and find a good Bible commentary. of course, Christianity has a bunch of different denominations... i for example am a WELS Lutheran (www.wels.net) but most of them teach what is true. just watch out for churches that just want your money (offerings should be of free-will, not forced), that talk about things contrary to the Bible, and that are reallly liberal. if anything bothers, you, by all means, ask! or even email me at luxvitrum@aol.com . you will have to be careful and now that you're trying to join Jesus, you may find many enemies, but don't lose heart. you are most definitely making the right move.

There are thousands of religions worshipping thousands of gods. Many are extinct but new ones are created all the time to take their place. "Christianity" is a blanket term that covers thousands of sects many of which were created in the latter half of the 20th century in the USA.

Every religion claims to be the true religion and claims that all others are false. The only logical conclusion is that no religion is the true religion (if there is one) and that all of them are false. Believers in every religion will claim theirs is the true one and will back up their claims by selected quotations from the Bible, the Koran, the Book of Mormon, the Torah or whatever. They will often use the same quotations to argue for different religions.

If you can't decide, found your own religion. It is what thousands have done before you and it is just as likely to be right as any other.

How to Identify the True Religion

    1. The true religion worships the only true God, Jehovah.—Deuteronomy 6:4, 5; Psalm 146:5-10; Matthew 22:37, 38.

    2. The true religion offers access to God by means of Christ Jesus.—John 17:3, 6-8; 1 Timothy 2:5, 6; 1 John 4:15.

    3. The true religion teaches and practices unselfish love.—John 13:34, 35; 1 Corinthians 13:1-8; 1 John 3:10-12.

    4. The true religion remains untainted by worldly politics and conflicts. It is neutral in time of war.—John 18:36; James 1:27.

    5. The true religion lets God be true by accepting the Bible as God’s Word.—Romans 3:3, 4; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13.

    6. The true religion does not condone war or personal violence.—Micah 4:2-4; Romans 12:17-21; Colossians 3:12-14.

    7. The true religion successfully unites people of every race, language, and tribe. It does not preach nationalism or hatred, but love.—Isaiah 2:2-4; Colossians 3:10, 11; Revelation 7:9, 10.

    8. The true religion advocates serving God, not for selfish gain or a salary, but out of love. It does not glorify men. It glorifies God.—1 Peter 5:1-4; 1 Corinthians 9:18; Matthew 23:5-12.

    9. The true religion proclaims the Kingdom of God as man’s sure hope, not some political or social philosophy.—Mark 13:10; Acts 8:12; 28:23, 30, 31.

    10. The true religion teaches the truth regarding God’s purpose for man and the earth. It does not teach the religious lies of immortal soul and eternal torment in hell. It teaches that God is love.—Judges 16:30; Isaiah 45:12, 18; Matthew 5:5; 1 John 4:7-11; Revelation 20:13, 14.

There is only one 'true' religion:

    James 1:27

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

You can begin by reading God's Word every day, praying consistently and frequently, and spending quiet time alone with God as much as possible. As far as finding a 'church', you'll want to attend one that teaches ONLY from the Bible explicitly. This can be difficult, as many churches already have their own doctrine in place with their congregation.

Christianity is the only faith that teaches that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. In the Bible, Jesus Himself tells us, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to God except through me" (John 14:6). Jesus also says, "All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved."

It depends on which Bible suits you best, with so many different translations out there and all those religions that claim to have the true translation.

I say try the learning about the real Bible that hasn't been changed from it's original language.

The Hebrew Bible... I heard that Jesus also spoke Hebrew...

But again, it's your choice on which you want to be the true religion.

Becoming a Christian is simply this: knowing you are a sinner and accepting Christ and His sacrifice for you on the cross. That's all it takes to be saved! When it comes to joining a church, there is no one "true" denomination, as long as the church itself preaches the Bible and about Jesus Christ dying on the cross for our sins. The only difference between denominations is in the way that they worship.

My advice would be to find a friend or loved one that goes to a church and begin visiting many different churches to find what type of worship works best for you. I pray God guides you to the right church!

Pretty hard to follow Christ if you're not Christian, and since it's alse religion, you shouldn't follow him anyway. No religions are true, try to learn some science. It's honestly very fascinating and, best of all, true.

Christianity is the truth. John 14:6. Check out this link to learn more about what true Christians believe.

  • Learn about a church. Read the Bible. (or whatever book your chosen church has) If the church doesn't practice what it preaches, don't believe. If they don't follow the teachings in the Bible, don't believe. Pray about it. If you recieve a warm feeling (not heartburn lol) It is true. If not, the church is false. But in order to recieve an answer you must pray with sincerity.
