hooking up printer to wireless router?

I have a dell 964 all in one printer, it also sends/recieves faxes. The entire unit seems to be working correctly except for the fax machine part. When my fax line rings, it rings in the special tone, but my fax machine doesn't pick it up. When I try to send a fax it can't find the phone line. The only thing I can think of is it isn't hooked up correctly.

It use to work just fine, but we recently bought a wireless router from QWEST. It is a PK5000. I think when we hooked it up we messed up the way the fax line was hooked up. Can someone PLEASE explain how to hook it up correctly? Even if we have to start at the begining, I don't care. I need to know where the line goes from the phone jack to the _____, from the printer to the router or the computer? Ect. Thank you!!!

The fax machine cable should connect to the Phone jack (the jack closest to the RJ45 ports) port & the Line jack (the jack closest to the end of the router) should be connected to the wall. Try connecting a regular phone to see if it works OK or not. If it doesn't work & you have the cables connected correctly, you may have bad cables (try a new set) or a defective router.

The phone line should go to the fax machine. If it has a handset, pick it up and see if you get dialtone.

definite, or u ought to plug in a cord to the instantaneous printer. (that could defeat the point of it being instantaneous). Soooo, you could both get a instantaneous router to hook up your computer for your printer, or you could get a cord to plug into it. in simple terms because you get the router does no longer propose your internet must be instantaneous.
