resource monitor standby memory?

After having the computer (Windows 7) on all night with no program or windows open the first thing I did was to check the Resource Monitor. Shows over 3 gig as "standby memory". Reason I looked is that the computer slows down the longer it is left on. What is the memory being held in standby for? And why? Thank you.

pointless getting 1333mhz memory. it is going to run on the FSB velocity on the thank you to be 1066 or much less. so even though you put in speedier memory, it is going to least confusing run at 1066 or what ever the FSB is waiting at. get speedier presented which you overclock (which isnt a severe-high quality suggestion on a working laptop or laptop) you will additionally would desire to make certain once you have a 32bit or sixty 4 bit working approach, ideal click on on the 'laptop' folder in initiate menu, proporties and notice what version you have have been given. regardless of if that's 32bit your limmited to 4GB.
