Chocolate and Coffee?

I love to bake and am avid watcher of shows on food network. I don't bake with chocolate very much although I love Chocolate. I have heard that adding coffee to recipes that have chocolate in them really brings out the flavor and honestly, when I have had chocolate cake or cupcakes in the past I don't know if coffee was added or not. Does anyone add coffee when they are baking with chocolate and if so, does it really bring out the chocolate flavor as people says it does in your opinion?

Absolutely!!! I usually substitute strong, brewed coffee that has been cooled for the liquid in my chocolate cake recipes. It adds a subtle richness to the flavor that really enhances the chocolate.

I love the 2 together. Just found a delicious recipe for chocolate cake with mocha chocolate icing.

The coffee gives it a really special taste.

If not there is also tiramisu, with coffee and chocolate on top.

Yes. I put a cup of cold strong espresso (and sour cream) in my chocolate cake and a tbsp of instant in my brownies.
