Is it creepy that cats are always the sometyms the source of evil?
in mombasa...kenya/ there are superstitious women or men who have some witch craft done on their jobs. To protect them from been robbed. So there is always a cat thats black sitting outside the shop...looking all scary.
But truth is it is bewitched to sit outside...apparently when someone sees one out? no one dares going inside until they see the shop keeper.
Anyway...so cats in kenya...for people who believe in the superstion things that...they are sources of witch craft...

These are just myths and are involved in typical scary stories. Black cats are actually considered lucky. Cats in general are one of the most beloved creatures to own( besides dogs) Egyptians worshiped Cats and viewed them as gods. These are just silly stories that you usually hear. The reason why black cats are mentioned in scary stories or related to witchcraft is because...well they are black and look evil and mysterious. In reality this is false.
Source(s): Owner of 2 cats( one is black and is in no way "evil") - 9 years ago
I have two black cats that wandered into our family (actually my older brother and sister chased them around a local park and kidnapped them against their will, but the other way sounds so much better :)). I definitely believe that they are "old souls", but unfortunately the "bad luck" aspect seems to have stuck to the cats themselves. Both the black cats had the bad habit of laying in the street at sunset when it was cooling off, not realizing or caring that drivers could not see them. The one cat lost her tail (and the babies she was pregnant with at the time) when she was hit by a vehicle. A year later, the other cat got hit, and after almost $2000 USD, she is now the owner of a metal hip replacement, which is quite painful to her in the Winter weather.
I have noticed that some people of African descent seem to dislike or even fear our cats, and keep their distance from them. This is just over silly superstition. Now if we were in a city where Voodoo practitioners were prevalent, I might give slight credence to the notion, but these black cats haven't been able to protect themselves and haven't harmed anyone but themselves.
Now I'm sure there are people who are using their cats as familiars but whether it would affect the cat themselves in any way (other than making them have a stronger bond with their owner) I really doubt. Remember these are real witches, not some fairy tale evil ones, so what is the harm? They could be Christian or Hindu and no one would freak out, so seriously, what is the difference if they "pray" with incense and words from a spell instead of a bible?)... It's scary to think that there are people going around harming black cats simply out of fear, paranoia, superstition and misunderstanding. The cat may be mystical or it may not be, but it isn't evil.

They believe this stuff because of some garbage man wrote in the King James version of the Bible.
Exodus 22:18
Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
lies creep in all the time.
Acts Chapter 15: 24
Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

I'm not sure I really understand your question. Cats are not the source of evil. Ancient Egyptians worshipped cats, valuing them above human lives. Black cats used to be considered lucky before they became associated with witchcraft.
Plus, cats are very loving, very loyal and very beautiful animals. They are not evil.
