whos more at fault for this over population?

Update:

Population has steadily increased over time, at least be a little for real please

Update 2:

Ayehey - You must add into the equation all of our material things. The dams, garbage, pollution ect. We should be a little for real, no knit picking.

Update 3:

Who usually wants 5 kids and who usually just wants 1 or 2 or 0?

Are you people kidding? There is no overpopulation? Are you for real???

Sorry but am angry now. Do you EVER consider the world outside of your borders?

Species are becoming extinct at a steadily exponential rate. That means they are gone. Forever. Wiped off the face of the planet and never to be known by your future children. Much of this has to do with the decimation of natural habitats to make way for human development. Palm oil anyone?

The ecosystems in the oceans are a literally imploding. Coral reefs are dying are a result of human pollution and shipping and fishing practices. I go scuba diving and I have seen it for myself. There are hardly any fish left in places like Jamaica due to overfishing. Fish stocks the world over are plummeting. Soon there will be nothing in the sea but lion fish and jellyfish.

The rainforests are disappearing at ever increasing rates. When the level of reduction reaches critical mass the effects will be felt everywhere in terms of shifting weather patterns. And it won't be pretty.

There are way too many people on the planet. It simply is not sustainable. And while you bury your collective heads in the sand whilst eating your cheap burgers made from vast herds of methane excreting cows before getting into your enormous gas guzzling cars, drinking from plastic water bottles that you a mindlessly toss into the trash, give some thought to how your actions impact places on the other side of the world from you.

I know you have all been brainwashed by your politicians that climate change is not happening or is not caused by man, but the rest of the world knows the truth.

Wake up people. There really is no excuse for such mindless stupidity.

I think that immigration is a big problem here in the UK. Whilst I don't go shooting down individuals, I see it as a problem in a practical sense. Usually women from other cultures have more children, because where they are from the death rate is higher so not so many of those children will survive and they don't take contraception. Getting pregnant every year to every other year is normal for them. In the UK 1 in 4 babies is born to women seeking asylum. Whilst I sympathise with these people and would probably do the same in their situation only thinking of my loved ones and myself, I don't see how taking in asylum seekers will make the world a better place. The UK is capsizing and the NHS, workforce and welfare system is heavily strained. There is also a lot of positive discrimination at play. When I said that it's not going to make the world a better place I meant that there are still problems in these countries where asylum seekers are coming from. Asylum seekers are just going to keep on coming over here because their country has problems. In the end our country will also become 3rd world if we carry on taking them, so it's a no win. If we try and help their countries, we risk being invaded and we also have limited funds. We either save ourselves or save many people in the short term with dire consequences. I hate to say it but it's the horrible truth.

These are the countries that are having the most children. Notice most are from Africa but many of the children die young anfd the populations are not very large. Notice the largest country to come first is Afganistan followed by Philippines. These two countries are currently the biggest contributors to over poopulation. Before it was China and India but these two countries have reduced the amount of children each family has. China has a one child policy that will severly cut its population in the future.

I don't think you can really point the finger at one person or even a group but clearly the 3rd world is having more babies. Did you know that "a decline in infant mortality that is due to an increase in per capita real income triggers a subsequent decline in fertility"? In other words poverty is a factor in over-population. If we could find ways of eliminating world poverty over population would likely solve itself.

"Overpopulation" implies that the population is at unsustainable levels, and that doesn't necessarily seem to be the case. Although we're probably going to have to start investing heavily in desalination plants if we want our agriculture to stay sustainable.

The biomass of all human beings on the planet is less than 10% of the biomass of all ants on the planet, so... we know that the planet can support a hell of a lot more animal life than we're putting on it right now.

We are all at fault it is time to rise and demand proper birth control and reduction of population growth.

There is no overpopulation. There is "no one wants to live in Kansas."

Increasing population is not the same as overpopulation.

We're not overpopulated, the birth rates are decreasing and the death rates are increasing - what the hell are you talking about?

AND, yours of course. Keep it in your pants, brah.
