Cheap simple thermal imagine device?
I know cheap is a relative term here but I am looking to get my hands on a thermal device. I do not need anything elaborate really. I just want to be able to stand outside a house in the winter and be able to look at the wall and tell where heat is coming through in order to find areas that are poorly insulated. I am pretty sure I do not need a 6,000 dollar thermal imaging video camera for that. I am doing some research of my own on google but i am posting this question because I am pretty confident there are individuals out there which have greater experience than I do on the subject.

I would suggest a infrared laser beam thermometer. Just point the red dot at any surface and a digital dispaly reads out the temp. of that surface. Find cold or hot spots on walls around vents etc.. They run anywhere from 45 and up. seen them on daily deals on ebay for 44dollars. its affordable and quite addictive i might add. U can check how hot anything is. I mean anything.. I mean anything. LOL! Hope i didnt offend but thats the device i would recommend for you. Take care.... I mean ANYHING! doh! sorry.
