WHY is Romney losing big in his HOME STATE?

If anyone would know Romney's character and capacity, it would be the people of Massachusetts, the state he was governor of, his former employers. Yet according to current polls, Obama is the run away favorite there, 59% to 40%, with only 1% undecided. Clearly Massachusetts voters, the people who know him best, do not want Mitt Romney in the white house! What do they know that you don't know?

Here's the link to the Rasmussen poll:

This one has it 68/32 Obama:

Update:

AMAZING!!

The only people who ever voted Romney to live under a Romney administration realize it was a big mistake and do not the man back in power. That's first-hand experience: Been there/done that; big mistake but we learned from it.

The rep's now dismiss this as "well, it's a democrat state, so what do you expect". YES- a state that broke pattern to buy his pitch and were highly disappointed. He got the job; he failed to perform. He's strong on salesmanship but short on delivering.

Right now, he's selling promises again... invisible magic plans that he keeps in a sealed box. MA bought an empty box.

The typical double standard the GOP is using is incredibly lame. You can't get a rational perspective when you excuse away any facts that conflict with what you want to believe, and leads you to make really poor choices. Then, you find out you've bought a lemon. You deceive yourself simply by refusing to examine all the facts.

Massachusetts

Update 2:

Massachusetts figured that out.

Look at the answers here, and you can see what the Romney supporters don't know.

MA is a communist state? Then it's one that voted for Romney as their leader.

Because it's a typically democratic state? Then it's one that over-rode it's own prejudice and voted for Romney as their leader.

Boy, you Obamabots will stoop to anything ! ?? Yes, so low as to reference independent polls that don't come from Romney-approved news agencies. So low as to use facts that do not support what you want to believe. Horrifying, but true.

It is a state that always votes Democrat for the President... Come on now... ??

NOT TRUE. Massachusetts has voted republican in presidential elections four times, or about 25% of the elections since 1950. If you don't check your facts before you open your mouth, you rarely get them right.

Romney IS a salesman, and a good one- thought not at honest one. He IS NOT a businessman in the sense of creating companies and jobs or managing their success- but in the sense of manipulating takeovers and converting assets to profit very rich big-buck investors. His ego far exceeds his abilities when it comes to the very tough job of being president.

He sold Massachusetts on electing him governor. There's a very good reason why they don't want to buy the same package again. There are very few repeat buyers for empty promises.

Romney was and is a failure. He was perhaps the worst governor in Massachusetts history and lost over 1,000,000 jobs. Notice Mass in the polls where Romney is down at least 20, they know Romney and don’t want him as President.

If elected, Mitt Romney will run this nation like one of those tax-haven republics for the uber-wealthy, where 99% of the population live in poverty, and as servants to their moneyed masters.

Republicans know they are going to lose. Betraying the country in a pathetic attempt to undermine the president wasn’t enough. Voter suppression wasn’t enough. Voter registration fraud wasn’t enough. Playing politics with a national disaster wasn't enough. Can’t face the fact they nominated a dishonest, two faced tax evader, that America wanted nothing to do with.

Right-wingers - often wrong, but never uncertain.

Romney tried to veto most of the bills the legislators voted to pass, But they had to over-ride his vetoes to get things done. When storm disaster hit the western rural part of the state, he did not even visit that area until he was shamed into it. When he made a public appearance, the staff with him wore false police badges telling reporters and people that they would be arrested if they did not leave. He spent the last 18 months of his term out of state making speeches to prepare his presidential campaign. When his term ended, he deleted the e-mails and removed the hard drives of his and his staffs' computers. He did not care about Massachusetts and the people there. He does not care about America and the people there either, He just wants to be president and thinks he is entitled to it.

The fact that Romney is losing in Massachusetts has nothing to do with his character and capacity. This isn't rocket science.

Massachusetts is a liberal Democrat stronghold. That's it. That's the reason.

    ===================================

    >> a state that broke pattern to buy his pitch and were highly disappointed

Do you know anything about Massachusetts at all? Romney was one in a line of Republican governors. The state didn't "break pattern" at all. When he left office, his approval rating was above 50% and had only dropped down because he had announced that he would *not* be seeking reelection.

Had he run again, he would have beaten Deval "Obama-Lite" Patrick hands down.

Because its a heavily blue state. Presidents usually win their home state, but not always.

Al Gore lost his home state of Tennessee in 2000. If he had won there then he would have won the election and Florida wouldn't have mattered.

George McGovern lost his home state of South Dakota in 1972.

So its not like it never happens.

Because it is a democratic state? He changed all his positions on the national stage, and after he got elected governor. He had 100's of overridden vetoes too, and basically wasn't there most of the time.

Because he spent half his term out of the state preparing for a presidential run. He left office there with a 37% approval rating and didn't run for re-election because he probably would have lost, damaging his presidential ambitions.

Obama won that state by 26% in 2008. Kerry won by 25% in '04 and Gore by 27% in 2000. Now, I know it's incredibly hard, but try and figure out the trend there.
