How will the damage from Hurricane Sandy affect the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade?
It just occurred to me how quickly this is coming up! I would think that it would still happen, but as I am not a New Yorker, it's hard to know.

I'm guessing the city will have the streets clean enough & the power will be restored by then.
As long as that's taken care of, Macy's will make sure to get the show on the road.
The city doesn't like to cancel things like that in the wake of tragedies and catastrophies; the parade even went on after Sept. 11th 2001.
New Yorkers won't let these things beat us... life goes on. If anything, we all need a little normalcy and tradition after something like this storm.

Ive been wondering the same thing and almost posed that idential question. We have planned and saved for this event for almost a entire year. I had no idea the parade was held just after 9/11. Also, Ive havent heard anything in the new or otherwise about how (or if) the hurricane (or super storm) Sandy has effected the parade. I will look forward to other information to assure us the event will proceede on the ORIGINAL route. (Our room is a parade route VIEW room.

It may be cleaned in time though the Thanksgiving Parade route isn't top on the list.
