hi, i wanted to ask - is it normal to get sore breasts like they are full after delivery even if you havent breast fed at all?
i was on bed rest and lots of medication due to manual placenta delivery via surgery and was not able to breast feed - i wanted to start but i was in alot of pain and couldnt do it and wondering if its still normal to have full feeling sore breasts like they are badly bruised?

If you pump, as one person suggests, it will encourage your breasts to produce milk. A friend who did not breastfeed said it took her a few weeks to dry up. It might still be possible to try breastfeeding, or if you can express the milk into a sterile bottle, feed it to your baby, though you might need formula as well. It is worth it, even if for a short time.

Your breasts expect to make milk to feed your baby whether or not you intend to breastfeed. As soon as the placenta is delivered, the process begins, whether or not you breastfeed. You will go through an initial period of engorgement, and then the milk will gradually be reabsorbed by your body. The process will take several months, although the initial discomfort will pass after a few days

Yes. Your breasts are probably engorged.
If you can't or are not breast feeding you still need to release the milk.
Start pumping.

yes even if you choose not to breastfeed, your body will still make milk because your body knows it's supposed to be breastfeeding.
