How to get power in a apartment during a outage?
I live in a apartment building in the center of a city and I'm a so called "prepper". I like being prepared for emergencies, i have four month's worth of food 50 gallon's of water and flashlights candles and material to pass the time in case of a emergency. Two thing's i do not have is a source of power in case of a outage and a way to cook food and get heat, I have a coleman propane stove but i think using that inside could be dangerous, so i'm not sure if i can use that. And as far as generator's go i know i can't have one because i live in a one bedroom apartment, So are there any generator's that can be used indoors? And what kind of stove can i have for heat and cooking? {: Thanks

A generator must be outdoors, and even outdoors they need to be far from any windows or vents. The best you can do in an apartment is to place a small generator on the patio, passing the cable through the sliding door and sealing the door as best as you can. You would need to have a carbon monoxide detector in the apartment as there will be the danger of carbon monoxide poisoning.
A butane stove can be purchased for as little as $11 at an Asian grocery store or you can purchase a Coleman Stove for about $80. The butane stove would be fine for most purposes but in a sustained emergency such as a complete social breakdown, a multi-fuel camping stove would be better. Coleman used to make a catalytic heater that also worked on camping fuel but their model now only work on propane, however propane is much easier to keep for long periods of time than fuels such as gasoline so propane is not a bad choice for temporary emergencies. Any fire based device indoor is dangerous unless well ventilated and a generator on the patio would remove your most obvious means of ventilation.
I suppose you could have a long stick that you could lash to your patio and suspend the generator at a safe distance, then cook on a stove on your patio. Or you could just go to a FEMA pod and pick up your case of MRE's.
A prepper in the city would have a bug out plan to get out of the city to a secure remote location away from the crowds and that's where the supplies would be stocked. If there's a river nearby, stock an inflatable raft with a small motor to get you out of the city and into the countryside. Take a bicycle with you, perhaps one of the folding bicycles.

With our snakes we take them and carry them to our physique under our shirts on a similar time as we are under blankets. i've got in no way owned aquatic turtles yet while they're used to being dealt with in any way you could desire to do a similar. yet another decision i've got heard yet no longer beneficial if it works would be to have a dry container on your automobile and you could desire to force around or what no longer and save them heat via way of heater. your superb decision could be to touch some aquatic turtle breeders the two on your section or in chillier factors removed from you to determine countless issues. My Veiled Chameleon travels a 5 hour force with us and the 1st hour he's chilly we positioned a warmed blanket over him or carry him against us with the heater on medium. he's overjoyed with that, physique warmth is a form of issues that reptiles like.
