On the left shelves with bags, belts, scarves, and shoes; in the middle at the top work shirts and skirts, on the bottom weekend tops and skirts, on the right coats, jackets, dresses. Everything hangs facing left. Everything else is in separate chests of drawers.

    Fascinating stuff right!?!?

I live in an old house so our closets aren't very big so I need to maxinmize space. Mine has one small door and half the closet in behind a wall and difficult to get to, but it's quite deep. I have two closet rods that go acrss the width; one on top the other lower down. All the tops go on top and all the pants, skirts and other bottoms go on the bottom rod. I then arrange according to color, lightest to darkest in the summer and in the winter I reverse the order with the black first and the white near the back. By doing this it's really easy to put together outfits. I have another pair of rods that go from back to front, and all my dresses go on these. The left bar has current season and the right, which is harder to get to has the out of season dresses. underwear, T-shirts, shorts, yoga and sweat pants, pajamas. tanks and other clothes like that go in drawers and all my wool clothes go in a large cedar lined wardrobe. I have way more jewelry than most people -what with being a jewelry and beadwork artist and all -and I keep it in four free-standing jewelry amoires. Shoes go on a rack on the closet floor and boots go in a closet on the main floor outside of my bedroom. I don't have a lot of room, but I still manage to keep my large wardrobe under control.

Mine isn't very organized. There are some top-bottom combinations I really like and so I put them on the same hanger.
