4 year old with strep throat, other remedies aside from antibiotics?

My 4 year old daughter has had strep throat now four times in the past 10 months. I do not want her to get more sick and want to know if antibiotics are the only answer or if there is an alternative solution? Also, how can we prevent future occurrence once she clears up this time?

Antibiotics are the only effective treatment for bacterial infections - anything else treats the symptoms, but doesn't get rid of the bacteria.

The alternative is letting her body fight the infection, and hope that she is strong enough to survive if she develops septicaemia.

As to prevention - make her wear a face mask at all times, and don't let her mix with other children at all.
