sexual harassment in the work place?
A coworker of mine claims she was ‘pinched’ on her butt by our boss (a doctor)
This happened some time ago. She has been hiding it.
She came to me discreetly and told me this.
I suggested she go to management about this; which is a friend of ours.
She refused and told me she is going to put in her 2 weeks. (she can’t handle any confrontation)
And she has been miserable since,
The similar thing happened to a previous employer here and she was too scared so she resigned. She wanted to avoid a hostile work environment.
I got fed up and ‘text’ our manager off hours saying that I need to talk to her about certain things going on. She responded with “I can’t talk, can you just text?”
So I did. Describing how afraid this employee is to do anything
Minutes later she posted on Facebook something along the lines “it’s disgusting how people cannot stand up for themselves, they are too spineless”..(she is the kind to rarely update a status
Today the manager complains to the employee “I have to file a complaint, and now MY job is on the line”
This employee cried to me. And just turned in her 2 weeks.
This really pissed me off because I know this doctor is capable of doing this.
And I never seen the manager act like this.
Did I make a mistake by taking this to management?
Should I let this employee resign? (she feels uncomfortable here)
What advice can I give this employee?
She is scared she won’t find another job.
should i (as a friend/co-worker) stay out of it?

It doesn't matter anything now. Even if anyone of you lose the job keep trying you'll find somewhere. I too quit my job for fear of a hostile management. Was so scared that I wont find a job anywhere, I moved to a new country itself. My previous management is still searching for me.
Before quitting I spoke to HR and they told me to stand up for myself. Thats what everybody will say either stay out or quit. But with a psychotic boss or management, you have to be very cautious of every step that you take.

contact an attorney. The EEOC does no longer stipulate that sexual harassment can merely come from the different sex. Who replaced into the investigator? And worker of the employer? Sorry, it fairly is a comic tale. you may win once you've tried to have it stopped and by no capacity some thing has been performed. i'm no longer an attorney, yet I did bypass to regulation college for a three hundred and sixty 5 days...(i determined i ought to no longer lie for a residing)...any freshman regulation college student ought to fairly coach sexual harassment. it truly is uncomplicated to win. Did you save the textual content messages? If a guy did that to me interior the artwork position, i'd lose my interest because i'd weigh down his testicles.

I think that talking to management when she told you not to was inappropriate. You should let her resign if she wishes. However, if she is so terrified of not finding another job, it is her fault. If the pinching was an isolated incident, and proof is scarce of the previous time, then your buddy may have over-reacted or been the victim of an accident. I would advise helpuing your friend. There is not much advice to give other than standing by her.

Yep, none of your business and if she didn't want to file a complaint then that is up to her
Chances are you will be terminated
