Why was 7% unemployment for a couple of months when Bush was President a catastrophe, but 4 years of...?

unemployment over 8% under Obama something to be lauded? I guess I just always assumed that a low unemployment rate was a good thing. Is it supposed to be high for a healthy economy?

I have the answer for you!

It's the same reason why when we lost over 50 people in Afghanistan, alone, in the month of July that the mainstream media didn't tell us. When Bush was president there was a solemn daily total of losses given. With Obama as president, he gets a free pass, even when there are our bravest and best killed in action. It's just OK as Obama is so cool, he's not at fault for anything is he?

I hold the media responsible for what I would basically call treason.

It is their job to tell us and tell us the truth, what are they out there for after all?

I do not trust them anymore. I change stations all the time as I hope to hear something from each of them and derive my own opinion.

The liberals hate FOX news, but did you ever notice how high their ratings are compared to the others? Well, it has something to do with facts. I do feel they are biased, but at least they are not hiding everything from us. I do still watch the others so I can achieve that balance of my own.

But, I think the mainstream media is truly a group that ought to be be put on trial for protecting a poor president and hiding what he has or has not done that is wrong. Their "love" for the rock star Obama is beyond explanation. They are criminal in my mind. I wish I was a wealthy person as I would create TRUTH NETWORK, it would be a sworn to tell the truth news station that was purely news with no editorial opinions allowed, just the fact's ma'am. I wouldn't have the employees sensationalizing things and looking to make trouble spouting their own opinions. Our motto would be "leave your opinions at the door and just tell facts". We wouldn't fill up time with opinionated pundits spouting off, we would seek truthful news stories throughout this nation and if there wasn't enough "bad" news to fill the time up, we would actually find GOOD news to report, wonderful people doing unselfish and great things.

I wish I could win a big lottery or strike gold or something... I would truly do this. I would have a committee made up of the most unbiased people I could find to oversee this network.

    Why can't we have that?

heavily, how retarded are you? The financial equipment collapsed in 2007-2008, precise as Obama grew to alter into president. We had sturdy years in the process the Bush administration simply by fact we've been in an financial bubble and there became mass corruption on Wall St.

It's because Bush is a Republican.

It's the same with gas prices. People were getting ready to revolt when gas got up to $2.50 per gallon under Bush, but with Obama everything was fine and dandy when they were at $3.50 (well over $4.00 in my state).

Because presidencies don't happen in a bubble. If you bothered to look at a monthly unemployment chart from BLS, you would see that unemployment started rising in the 2nd year of Bush's last term and went straight up. We were losing 750,000 jobs PER MONTH the entire last year of Bush's presidency. We turned that around and now have had 40 straight months of private sector job growth and 5.3 million new jobs.

It would have been a helluva lot worse if the Republicans got into office. Obama had slowed the upward momentum of unemployment with his spending.

Just partisan squabbles. Everyone is out to point the finger at everyone else.

Between the mess that Bush left and the fact that Republicans outright refused to work with Obama on anything, I think that you should be thankful that it wasn't a whole lot worse.
