Did you know if Romney won only the same number of Latinos as McCain did, he would be president?

His move to the far right on immigration cost him the election. All he needed was the number of Latinos McCain won over in 2008 to win the presidency. And I got news for ya, simply picking a VP with a hispanic last name like Rubio wouldn't have worked either.

Look, let's talk reality here (I am Latina) about what the GOP thinks modern day America is and what Modern day America really is.

Romney could have won the election and the Latino vote EXTEREMELY easily if he would have acknowledged he needed them, but he didn't. Pres. Obama on the other hand always acknowledged it and that is what clinched the Vote.

Here is a very nutty idea that the GOP NEVER, EVER wanted to address which cost them this election and many to come.

When Santorumand Romney were in Puerto Rico, the winds of change were already in the air. Puerto Ricans had back then expressed their interest in Statehood. Santorum quickly hit them with unconstitutional babble. Romney was more subtle but made zero commitment. In the GOPS mind change was unacceptable.

After getting 90% of the votes in Puerto Rico with 20 delegates Romney had a golden opportunity not just to get the Latino vote, but to steal all together NY and FL (plus 200K+ votes from PA) from Obama. If he would have promissed that if in the next referendum the mayority of Puerto Rico would select statehood that he would use all his abilities to make it happen, he would have sealed the deal plus completely divided the DNC's hold on Puerto Ricos voter base.

But the GOP is like the stereotypes, old men who don't accept change. They didn't want to see that great change was coming and their was nothing they could do to stop it.
