This might help you with any printer you have or buy. When I print a page that doesn't need color, click on preferences then choose black/white, then apply, then print as black ink is cheaper than color usually. I take my empty black cartridge to my Walgreen's store (photo dept) where they refill it for $10, they do a good job and won't charge you if it doesn't work-they have a way of testing the cartridge b4 they fill it. They don't have much luck with color for some reason but blk/white, no problem. Not all Walgreen's do this, so call first if it is far from home.
