You Obamabots really HATE business and people who earn money dont you?

It is so obvious. It is so interesting to me. It is like you just want to punish the wealthy (which is defined on somebody who makes over 250k which is NOT wealthy...that is middle class) because your just so pissed that you have never been able to make enough money or your just lazy...or dumb, who knows. I just find it so interesting that mentality. Punish the people who drive this country with creative ideas and new businesses....makes no sense at all.

"the people who drive this country with creative ideas and new businesses" are not the rich, they're the middle class. What drives an economy? Demand and purchasing power. You know, what is provided by the middle class.

What baffles me is why you cons are so all fired up about defending the rich? For the past 12 years they've gotten break after break after break, had their tax rate lowered to the lowest it's been (except for two years in the late 80s) since 1932.

And yet they still pay a lower percentage of taxes than do the middle class. Why is that OK with you? They are not "job creators;" the rich stay rich because they sit on their money and let it make more money for them.

And if you're not wealthy at $250,000, you either live in Opposite Land or have some heavy duty bills to pay.

Seems like some of them are. I got a rather snide remark earlier today from a girl at home depot about how it's about time people like me will "stop getting away with murder".

I had to laugh in her face a little bit, since I was there giving business to the company that keeps her employed, and actually used to hire her husband and brother to maintain the lawns on a few properties I own over in Chandler. So either she is just astoundingly ignorant, or she's still pissed about me firing her husband for being late one too many times.

Edit: Ryu, give me a freaking break. I have several family members that I help with their taxes, and they are all in the $30-70,000 range so I know exactly how much those people pay in taxes, and I assure you that I pay about 800% higher as a percent of my income than they do. In fact, my only family member that pays any income taxes, besides me, is my dad who is receiving a salary of $40,000 a year and a pension of about $30,000 a year, and he paid less than 5% in income taxes. I swear, where in the hell do you people get your information from?

If you think 250K is middle class, you have a very unusual definition of middle. Housholds with income over 250K are the top 1.5% of all households in the country.

We are not interested in punishing people at the top, but basic economics indicate that the wealthy can afford to pay a higher percentage of their income as taxes as nobody needs a million dollar home or dinner at a fancy restaurant or a designer clothes, but they do need basic housing, a nutritional meal, and basic clothes.

The US Government is currently estimated to spend about 3.8 trillion in this fiscal year and take in about 2.9 trillion in revenue (assuming that the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts expire). Of that 3.8 trillion, 825 billion is social security, 530 billion is medicare, 140 billion is veteran's benefits, 700 billion is national defense, 114 billion is for transport (things like highwayfunds and airports paid for by dedicated revenue -- gas taxes and fees on airline tickets), and 247 billion for interest on past debt for a total of 2.556 trillion. In other words, to balance the budget, we either cut everything else by about 75% (including unemployment compensation (77 billion), food stamps (111 billion), and disaster relief (18 billion)) or we raise taxes on somebody.

Over 250k is not middle class, it's considered "Professional Worker" (which is considered Upper class)

The reason they want it is that the relative amount that the wealthy pay compared to what the middle class/lower class pay is imbalanced.

It's about the PERCENTAGES of tax that people pay.

Also, half the people who make 250k, are overpaid to begin with (Like, why do teachers make only 40-80k, when they're the ones who instruct future workers?)

Deficits aren't brought down by magic. Either cut fiercely at the social programs that protect the most vulnerable people in our society while the wealthy sacrifice absolutely nothing or have shared sacrifice by everyone to bring down the debt. This is not rocket science.

Don't care what they come back with they hate the rich. Simple. Obama told them the rich are bad and they are so loyal to him they believe it. If he were to write out checks to them for a few million dollars you have to know they would never turn it down. They don't have to worry about jobs lost because of the taxes cause a good share of them live off the government.

Nope. You and your team lost the election, and America won!

"somebody who makes over 250k...is middle class"

Then, you are a very low class lumpenproletariat.

I see the problem Lea, you're from Tennessee. Probably married your cousin and believe in the bible literally, you think creationism should be taught in school and want some people of "color" to work on your plantation. Most Americans are beyond that but not throughout the "bible belt" so called. Where the supposed Christians live, yet in fact where most of the KKK lives.

Yes. Our dear leader is the utopian prophet we have always looked for. How else am I going to get my welfare and food stamps so that I can buy that new cadillac?
