Will you be out shopping on Thanksgiving Day?
I found out the other day that more stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day and will be open as early as 8am. I find it disgusting, shameful, disheartening that people would rather be out shopping instead of spending time with their families. I love being at home and enjoying the special time that I can share with my family. I have never gone shopping on black Friday and don't intend to get out in the disgusting atmosphere. There is nothing I want or need that can't wait a couple days and there is nothing out there that I can't buy at the same price or cheaper in the weeks to come before Christmas. Stores make you think you are getting a bargain when all they do is raise the price and then lower it.

Nope! I will be too drunk. If not I will be too smart to go out until after Jan 2nd or so.

Absolutely not. I've done that once before and it was insanity. I will make double sure I have everything I need at least 3 days prior to Thanksgiving food wise.
As for Christmas shopping, no on that too. Not even on "Black "Friday" will I brave the stores. It's all just a gimmick anyway. Every store has a few good deals, but only a limited amount of that item just to get you in the door. The prices are the same, if not even more on Black Friday.

Never... I think it's very sad they are trying to encroach on the holiday by opening stores on Thanksgiving.
Some people love their bargain shopping but it's a shame they have to choose between it and family holidays.
Not to mention it forces a lot of people to have to work who would rather be home celebrating.

We shouldn't be surprised. After all, some stores had the Christmas stuff out no sooner than back-to-school sales came down.
I will be home on Thanksgiving, stuffing my face and watching football. On Black Friday, I will be stuffing my face on leftovers and watching more football. :)

Not all people have families these days. Times have changed. And many people will not have Thanksgiving dinners because they cannot afford it. Most people who get out on Thanksgiving enjoy being with crowds. It makes them feel happy and not depressed.
You are blessed, enjoy your life while you have it.
