if you had spd in one of your pregnancies is it likely you will have it again?

i had a daughter in 2010 with no spd but i had gest diabeties, i just gave birth and had nogest diabeties but had spd and it was so bad i had a hard 7 hour labor. i want to have another baby but i wont be able to cope with the spd is it likely i would have it again?

    Unfortunately yes, it is very likely you will suffer with it again. a few things do make it worse, such as pregnancies very close together, and lacking vit. D. So supplements can really help, as can physio and a support band. I didn't have SPD with my first, but had my second very soon after which started it off, i had it again with my third, and now 9 weeks with my fourth, midwife said I probably will have it again, so following her advice for vit. D, and hopefully it'll help. All the best xx

    Its a 50/50 chance, but chances do increase with maternal age.

    I'd probably advise, that if you do want another baby, then too have baby sooner rather then later. There are certain exercises that can help prevent and ease SPD if it 'were' too happen again.
