Immigration changing the economy. Is this topic enough about geography?
I have a human geography class and it's basically about the movement of people and impacts they have on the Earth and things like that. My essay is going to be about how they go to CA more than other states and it affects the economy. Their education, low taxes, and things like that. We need to include some kind of map so I was thinking one showing the movement or immigration percentages in the US.
Do you think it is related to geography enough? Anything else I should include??
Thanks

Are you talking about ILLEGAL immigration? (including anchor babies?)
No, it is not related to geography. It is related to economics. They want a piece of the American ATM, for free. And why not? Sounds like Obama will give it to them.
They are not really having an impact on the earth, as the cities and support systems (houses, roads, shopping centers) already exist in California (and America).
People who (centuries ago) moved to America and diverted rivers, built over farmland, and filled in estuaries are the ones that had an impact. << something like that.

Since human geography is basically cultural geography shouldn't
you concentrate on something like how immigration from a rural
geographical locale (i.e., Mexico's Yucatan region) to a dense
urban geographical locale such as San Diego or Los Angeles
affects the immigrant's cultural beliefs and interactions with
the environment.
For example, a rural immigrant moving to SD or LA would over
time lose touch with "nature." Skills necessary to survive in
native environments would be lost as he or she adapted
to urbanization.
This applies to beliefs systems such as religion.
This applies to the interaction within the family structure
as it breaks down or changes over time.
Even their culture becomes adapatable and sometimes
fades away.
