Why are there still middle-class Republicans?
This is a party that would sell its own child for power. They lie daily. They fear-monger. They cheat. They suppress the vote. They hold racist signs at Tea Party rallies. They block all progress in Congress. They are holding middle-class tax cuts hostage in order to protect the rich, just as they held unemployment checks hostage to protect tax cuts for the rich. They like war, and will even lie to take us there...then the greater percentage of soldiers vote Republican (don’t quite get that one). They have stalled Wall Street reform implementation for two years. They have filibustered every jobs bill that has come before them. They all voted against the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. They all voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act. They all voted for a budget CATHOLIC NUNS are protesting, for God’s sake...because that budget is immoral and serves only the rich.
I don’t see a single redeeming element to the Republican party today.

There is always a subtextual agenda with the GOP.
They talk "We are the antiabortion, the anti-gay marriage party". But they do that to mobillize people they couldn't if they fessed up and spilled their real agenda, which is "We are the party that hands the ultrawealthy huge sums of cash in the form of tax breaks and we are the party of off-shore investment, because we believe in a few owners of huge concerns getting rich, as opposed to you, the American people, having a way to make a decent living."
They know well how to talk one talk and live something else and have always done it.

The key to their success I think lies with their not believing their own propaganda about this country being Christian and center-right, and everyone being against progress and womens rights. That is a minority of people. Most people are open-minded and not religious. But these politicians dont get out and meet people to find out how they feel and what they need. Romney never broadened his mind to see what was going on. He had tunnel vision.

That's precisely what Romney just did for his entire campaign (even including hiding his tax returns) and he lost in a landslide! The American people are not that stupid.
