Rice bucket benefits?

So I'm starting to work out with the whole rice bucket thing, and I'm a catcher in high school. I understand that it helps improve your hand strength and your forearms, but what does this transfer to on the field? Like, how does it make me a better player?

overall strength is very good. baseball requires every muscle be in top shape and in balance. i've never heard of rice bucket for a catcher. steve carlton was infamous for this training technique. catcher's arm strength is important.

Never heard of the rice bucket, but hand strength and forearm strength are very important for hitting.
