When people say "I want my country back", what do they mean? What was it, that it no longer is?

Values -- decades of corruption through out the 60s 70s 80s some of the 90s and the Bush Administration has taken a huge toll on this country. The few and the greedy have robbed our country.. and greed and oil has been valued over the people.

They mean they want back a country that provides its citizens with an environment that fosters independence and the resources that allows you to be the best you can... versus a country that encourages dependence and sucking off the teat of the government for the rest of your life.
