In Ontario Canada a person can drink alcohol at any age, as long as it's consumed at a private dwelling and is given to the person by a parent.

The same is true for England, only difference being that the person in question has to be older than 5 years old.

That doesn't mean you can sit around and get drunk with your children, because that would be considered child abuse. It does mean that an underage person could have a beer or glass of wine with dinner.

  • My parents have let me drink since I was 18. I'm Hispanic (Mexican & Nicaraguan) The legal age in Mexico is 18 and I don't see what the big deal is. I'm 20 and responsible. It just depends on the situation.

I'm not sure. I remember the kind of things I'd do when I was drunk and underage, and that was only 1-4 years ago. So probably not.

A glass of wine at Thanksgiving or Christmas- or at a wedding- for a 16+, sure. Outside of those occasional circumstances- no.

Probably, yeah. My parents let me drink on special occasions and now I don't even care for alcohol.

As long as it was my own kid in my own home, mind you. I wouldn't liqueur up someone else's kid. lol
