why do I sound like this?
I had a speech impediment growing up and so I went to speech therapists. But after a while I was pretty much speaking fine. Now, im 18, and for a couple of years everyone's been asking where I was from because I have an "accent". Ive been getting weird looks when I talk and have had people laugh at it. Apparently I sound really German, though my family has been in America for some generations on both sides of my family. My immediate family doesnt notice anything strange about it but everyone else does.
Anyone know why I might sound like that?

I suspect you need to go back to the speech therapist for some brush up work. IF sounding as if you have an accent bothers you (by the way, you have some seriously rude friends that I would drop like hot lead!), then work on it until it's gone. Good luck, GW
