Did I say something wrong?

This guy asked me out a while ago and I honestly didn't like him back like that. I was really scared about hurting his feelings so I just said "Thats really sweet but I don't really want a boyfriend right now. Hope we can still be friends?" and now I feel really bad.. Does that sound mean? Or is it okay?
