I have a question about ranger school?

Is it possible to go to Ranger SChool only? After you graduate, you just get sent back to your unit and do your initial job?

I did, not a big deal. It is a school and you can apply to go to it. My unit had a competition so that the ones that got sent were the ones that made it. We did a PT test and the top 200 made it the pre-Ranger course. Out of that we had around 60 make it to Ranger school and about 70% passed and returned to our unit. Here is a thing about Ranger school that a few people could tell you, that they will have 450 soldiers show up for the PT test and only the first 250 that cross the finish line make it. So you can run a 100 on your run and still not see ranger school because you would be #251 and all of the slots would be filled. Sucks but there are only so many slots to fill. So bust your *** at the PT test, also every minute of the day is planned. We were getting smoked and the RI was watching his watch the whole time and 10 min passed and we moved on. Loads of fun and losing 45 lbs was great for my figure.

Yeah.... Ranger School is a leadership school. It is open to all branches. There is a difference between going to Ranger School and actually being an Army Ranger.
