So how come free healthcare is going to cost more money?

There seems to be a disconnect from facts and statistics ... to

Feelings and "handing out goodies" with no reason to believe it will actually be sustainable.

Update:

The only people calling it free are cons.

We know its going to be paid for, sometimes with tax money so people can actually afford coverage. No one is handing out goodies, I mean trust me, a colonoscopy is not in any way a goodie, but it can save a life.

I do agree its not sustainable, we need an expanded Medicare type situation where everyone is covered by the government out of taxes that would be raised to cover the costs. Like every other industrialized country has.

But that got shot down amid cries of socialism, communism and every other ism, except humanism.

I've also worked for everything I have, and I don't want to lose it because I get sick or injured. I saw that happen to my grandmother before Medicare, 87 years of hard work and savings wiped out by three months of stomach cancer. We need to do what's necessary to keep the country healthy and productive, and not worry so much about if doctors become millionaires or not.

Inserting third parties between vendor and consumer - as all Democrats demand be done for all products and all services - ALWAYS drives-up prices and ALWAYS creates shortages which ALWAYS lead to force-based rationing.. This is an iron law of nature to which no exception is possible.

    Regarding cost and "Obamacare."

    > Cost escalation was a PRINCIPLE EXPECTED result.

    > Opponents published objection based on this EXPECTATION.

    > All Democrats said that was a lie

    > 95% of "media" reported NOT "both sides" of the argument, but that the GOP was LYING about it.

    > The day it was signed, the SAME MEDIA reported as NEWS that even the Obama administration said dramatic cost escalation was guaranteed.

This is the pattern we ALWAYS see in the "news" during any political debate. It ALWAYS ends with NEWS that "the Republican lies were actually true."

Nothing is free. Somoene always has to pay the price.

So who will pay? The person who needs the service or the doctor who can get their money from someone who has some.

You have to pay the taxes tax in Canada?

It works well in Canada. It was about time you pay as much taxes as we pay already. We even have a tax for a tax.

@tasm, yes we do. Those taxes are on everything!
