Question for ruger single six shooters?

Anybody have experience with the 5.5 inch barrel and the 6.5 inch barrel? If do what are the prs and cons of each does the extra inch on the 6.5 help with accuracy any?

    1 mm (.039 in.) error at the front sight would cause a error difference of 19 feet @ 100 yards.

  • Only real advantage goes to the 6.5 inch barrel due to a slightly longer sight plane.

    I haven't seen much difference in accuracy, between the 5.5" & 6.5" barrels.

    I have a 5.5" one, I have a buddy with the longer barrel.

    I would imagine if you were talking 4.5" vs 7.5", you would start to notice a difference.

    I bought the 5.5" model, simply because I liked the balance and look of the gun better than the longer barrel ones.

    there is almost no difference in trajectory or ballistics between the two, it then is just a matter of choice. The shorter barrel would give you a faster draw and that would be your only difference.
