I'm not sure what this video has to do with it but I didn't listen to much as it's not my kind of music.

That said - I don't know how anyone, anywhere in the world can ever justify racism. There is not one person on this earth who chose to be born where they were born, to the parents they got, with the skin colour they have, the shape of nose they have etc. etc. and so on.

Racism is vile and totally lacking in intelligence. We are what we are and everyone else is what they are - we can take no credit for it nor can we apportion any blame for it and we should never need to apologise for it.

The advent/evolution of jazz/big band music was a strong contributing factor toward bridging the gap between the races. My parents weren't racist and they loved dancing to the music. They didn't care what the musicians looked like ... they liked the music.

There won't be too many that will want to believe this but I know from personal experience that James Brown was a racist himself. How do I know? I lived less than 20 miles from his home in South Carolina. He's dead now but when he was still alive, his antics made the local news nearly every month and it wasn't all lovable. In addition to being racist he was a wife beater. The local police had quite a record on him including assault with a deadly weapon, a shotgun, in the hallway of his own office suite in downtown Augusta, GA. He served time for that. You can admire the entertainer if that's your wish, but I have no admiration for the man.

Thank you. I once saw James Brown and the fabulous Flames - the James Brown Show was a "get up out of your seat" affair. Thanks for the memory...

I am only leary about men with canes who nip on magic mushrooms, oops magic elixir.

The jazz had made me come alive, but good. One thing great about music it brings people together. Hard to hate anyone who you can share a smile, a joke or good music with.

Racism is a dis-ease. A person who has it doesn't make sensible decisions about racism. My neighbor was a racist & yet he had friends who belonged to the group he claimed to hate.

When I was a child I had something happen that would have seemed to make someone a racist yet the person who helped me at that time was of the same race as the attacker. I chose to see that race as a loving & kind race of people. So racism is a choice for some & an inborn challenge for some that they came here to heal.

I can't get the youtubes too well right now but it sounds like a great video. It is so nice to be free & to love all have good intentions for others. Thanks for sharing this & as soon as I am able to get the youtube videos I will check it out.
