Should I take Dexedrine on the weekends?
Recently diagnosed with ADD as an adult. Been prescribed Dexedrine (relatively small doses) to help me with College. I am in school 9 hours a day 5 days a week and it does help me focus on my studies, thank goodness. But I don't particularly like how it makes me feel. Read it can be addictive and I am wondering if I need to take this drug all the time for it to be affective or can I just not take it the days I don't need it i.e. not in school. I guess my question mainly is does it need to be taken over a period of time to be affective?

I was prescribed Dexedrine 15mg, 3 x day for a long period of time. It's not something that has to build up in your system to be effective. You may take it only at times when you need that focus, in fact you're really better off using it sparingly. It works basically immediately / as needed.basis.
