I don't have butter can I use...?
So I'm gonna make boxed mac-n-cheese and I don't have butter (poor college student lol) do u think it would be okay to use a little bit of cream cheese instead?

The butter is there to help the powder stick to the noodles. there is fat in cream cheese, I would think it would work, but not sure. I think it would still work without any butter as well, but I'm not a big fan of the stuff so I have never tried either way.

When I make it, I just boil the pasta, drain the water and then put the chesses dorectly in.

You don't have to use butter when making mac & cheese. Just boil you noodles and you can either drain that water off when the noodles or done and add milk or not.
