Windows Vista Goes To Sleep When Battery Level Is Low?

I have a Gateway M-Series laptop, bought new in 2010 with windows vista home premium.

Over time my battery has basically become useless, sometimes it'll last 90 minutes unplugged (but say its dying) and other times it'll last 10 minutes and not say it was dying. Anyway, I have it set to NEVER sleep on any setting plugged in or unplugged. When my battery becomes low my laptop will go to sleep with no warning. I have to wait for it to shut the lights off and then press the power button to wake it back up.

Is there anything I can do to make it stop doing this? It started doing this a few months ago and I never changed anything

Most people just ignore the warning and don't care until the computer have goth enough and shutdown to save your stuff. The settings have nothing to say about this. When the battery level get to low it will automatically go to sleep so you don't loos anything. This is a safety feature from Microsoft who makes so you can't go to them and say I lost 2 hours of work because I run out of power and just to get the users more happy(those who work on there computer). So the best way to fix this is to just plug the charger in before you go to low.
