suppose you want to find the centroid of sin x on [0,π/2]
you have to calculate the integral of
x (sin x) dx on [0,π/2]
over the integral of
(sin x)dx on [0,π/2], which is 1
∫(x sin x)dx on [0,π/2], which still is 1
so function centroid of sin x on [0,π/2] is x = 1
