what is your breed of choice and why?

And what type of person would you recommend your breed to?

If your breed has different "types" aka show or working type? What type is your choice. Feel free to comment on the other "type"

German Shepherd Dog...working lines (mostly czech/ddr x belgian/dutch line mixes). I use them because they suit my needs best, I like them as working dogs the best. I like their ability to be part of the family and a working dog simultaneously. I like their seriousness. Their drive and intelligence. What type of person would I recommend? Someone who is going to work their dog in something...if not, they should consider a different breed.

I had someone come out to look at my latest litter (born on 9/11/2012), they were already sold but she was so keen to get a working line dog for herself and her family (2 kids under 10). I let her see the 3 pups I had left (2 were purchased by the same person and going to be picked up later, 1 I've kept)...when she saw them play with each other, and me, she quickly realized she no longer wanted a working line GSD anymore. The difference between show lines and working lines runs deeper than coat color!

The Chinese Crested, even though they're small,Ive noticed with my own, that they are little energy balls,so I suppose someone who is willing to put up with a spaz and the stubborness in this breed(particularly with potty training) would work well.I dont think there is a "working" type so the show type would be my choice.

I really adore the breed and am very passionate about them, there attitude, there spunk, there energy, there eagerness to be someones companion/buddy,the way they try and comfort/console someone in distress.Im indeed blessed to have them in my life:)

1- Gordon Setters. I have had this wonderful breed close to 31 years. They are sweet and goofy and affectionate. I definitely prefer the 'show' type, partially because I prefer the way they look, but also because they tend to be a little clamer.

My #2 breed is the Papillon. They are smart, smart, smart, and live to make their people laugh.

Bull Terrier, why unknown. They just have a face only a mother would love and I do. There are Show ones and some folks do agility...Trust me, the owners should get a award...They are stubborn and think it's playtime all day long. Owner should have free time to do things with the dog and involve the whole family. They are not the type to leave outside and be forgotten.

Well, I have never owned a dog who wasn't a mutt. Right now one of my dogs is thought to be a Bloodhound-Boxer-mix and I really like her personality. I'm not sure if she is more Boxer or more Bloodhound, but what I love about her is the always playful demeanor, droopy face, and goofy large body (she is always knocking things over/running into things). She is the opposite of aloof, and I have learned I really like a dog who can just relax and be my best buddy :)

I also have a Beagle mix (mostly or maybe full Beagle), but she is very aloof and very sensitive. It's like walking on eggshells around her. I know Beagles are sensitive souls, so this makes them a difficult pet to handle properly. I enjoy the fun-loving spirit of my Bloodhound mix a lot, but my husband seems to understand our Beagle better than I do :)

Pomeranian or German Shepherd. My poms are like babies, they love to be held and are so sweet and friendly. My German Shepherd is the ultimate companion. She's wonderful with our 3 year old and sleeps next to our bed every night, is perfect for my outdoorsy, athletic husband, not to mention, makes me feel safe on the nights my husband works the night shift. Both breeds are incredibly smart and suit our family's needs in different ways.

Australian Cattle Dogs are my breed of choice. They are loyal, intelligent, funny and low maintenance (as far as coat goes) and I like their size. They are high energy and so intelligent they need an experienced owner (or they will walk all over you) who is active. Mine love to go, but will just chill when I am. I prefer the leaner "type".

I currently own a Flat Coated Retriever and an English Cocker Spaniel and I love them to death! I would recommend Flat Coated Retrievers to someone who likes tough, athletic, goofy dogs who love nothing more then to run around a large field. Flat Coated Retrievers are very sweet and beautiful dogs and they are in the sporting group. My Flat Coated actually has showdog bloodlines and his father is the #2 Flat Coated in the country! As For the English Cocker Spaniel, he is also in the sporting group and is a retired showdog whose sister went to the Wesminster Dog Show! I would recommend ECS to people who like intelligent, sweet dogs who like to cuddle.

The Pomeranian. It dosn`t matter if it`s Show Bred or not to me, my Poms are pet quality. I love Pomeranians because they are smart, love to please, and have such big personalities. They can be easy to train (Excluding potty training), and easy to walk (If trained). They can be such sweet, great Dogs when trained right. They act like as if they are big and tough, but yet can be ``big`` softies when it comes to people (LIke my Charlie). I just love every thing about Poms (Other then that they can be very independant with a dominant streak).

I love pitbulls. I have 3. Very loyal, they get attached to u immediately, easy to train and full of energy. Pits get a bad rap but when people meet my dogs they see that they are no different than any other breed
