When people are in a life or death situation with somebody else they naturally bond together. I don't believe how you met and became infatuated with one another is as important as what else you have together. If this is a girl you would be attracted to anyway then I'd say go for it. I'd have a conversation with her about why she wants to go out with you. Is it just about this event or are you someone she might crush on anyway? You might even ask yourself if you really like her or just the idea of having a girlfriend? Whatever the answers are to those questions, if you can be honest about them you might have something together.
