What would DNA results be like for mixed people?

Me too, i guess.

I'm half japanese, part latino(mexican), part white(I've heard there's some italian and scottish down the line). My mom is japanese, my dad is white/latino but has blue eyes. I know two of my grandparents are full japanese. On my dad's side, my grandmother was white and my grandfather was latino.

Thanks if you answered this question. Just curious.

BQ: Where can I go to get these kinds of results? I'm curious. (And 18 lol)

There are three types of DNA inheritance you could look at:

    1. mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), this is inherited from your mother. Variants, called mitochondrial haplotypes originated in different parts of the world and you would expect yours to be from East Asia with a Japanese mother.

    2. Y chromosome DNA (I assume you are male), that is passed from father to son. So it would come from your latino grandfather and his father before him etc. Latino is a strange one, as it might mean many things - you might have an ancestry that traces back to Spain or possibly Italy, or even native South American, but as it traces ancestry back to really ancestors, it will depend on your ancient male ancestors, rather than more recent ones, as it remains relatively unchanged for generations. These are Y chromosome haplotypes.

    3. Autosomal DNA, looks at markers called SNPs that vary between populations. This is the one that might be able to give you a mix of different ancestries, as you should retain a genetic signature from all of your more recent rather than really ancient ancestors.

There are lots of different companies that do this type of analysis, you just have to choose one that suits you by comparing what they offer. Don't use STR or Codis typing for the last as these markers are useless for population mixtures.

gene(s) are responsible for a particular character (for example ,eye colour).Genes have alternate forms called alleles. For example one allele of a gene is responsible for blue eyes and other allele of same gene is responsible for brown eyes. the allele the kid gets will decide kid's characters. The probability of getting a particular alleles could to calculated depending on the nature and position of alleles on chromosome... (Chromosome carries genes/alleles)

Like any other person, you carry genes from both your parents, and therefore from each of your grandparents, great grandparents. etc.
